A crown is a ceramic covering placed on a natural tooth. The reasons why the Bakthan Dental team may advise a crown are many, and can include any of the following:
- The tooth has been damaged extensively due to cavities, and the damage is too large to be treated by a filling.
- The tooth has been fractured due to trauma
- The tooth is deeply discoloured and cannot be whitened.
- The tooth has had a root canal treatment completed and needs to be protected by a crown.
A bridge is a replacement for a missing tooth, typically gaining support from the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth. A bridge may be indicated in the following situations:
- Replacing a pre-existing bridge
- The teeth adjacent to the missing space are damaged and need to be protected. An implant is not possible due to health reasons or other factors.

Step 1

Step 2
After the tooth is prepared to receive a crown or bridge, a measurement is taken either digitally with a scanner or with a traditional impression (mould).
Step 3
The crown or bridge will be delivered and adjusted to feel as natural as any other tooth in your mouth.
